IMPORTANT:
To achieve the best results, it is recommended that you complete the following
instructions in sequential order. (See graphic at the end of this page.)
- ATTACHING
THE BASE MOUNT TO THE MOUNTING SURFACE
Note:
Some base mounts require drilling into the mounting surface for attachment,
while other base mounts utilize other methods for attachment like
clamping, etc.
- Determine
if the base mount requires drilling
- Position
the base mount to the mounting surface
- If
the base mount requires drilling:
- Choose
the proper mounting screws (not included)
- Mark
mounting surface where screws should be placed
- Secure
base mount to mounting surface with screws
- If
the base mount utilizes another attachment method, secure base mount
accordingly
- ATTACHING
THE DEVICE MOUNT TO THE DEVICE
Note:
Some device mounts require screws to attach the device to the device
mount, while other devices attach to the device mounts with other
methods like clamping, etc.
- Determine
if the device mount requires screws to attach the device
- If
the device mount requires screws:
- Choose
the proper screws (not included)
- Secure
device to device mount with screws
- If
the device attaches to the device mount by another method, secure

the cam lever all the way (down position) on the connector so that
the end sockets are fully expanded to accept the device mount and
base mount
- Insert
the rubber ball found on the base mount into the bottom socket (the
end with the VersaTrue logo)
- Insert
the rubber ball found on the device mount into the top socket
Note:
Inserting the rubber balls may require slight additional force
to fit into the socket. This is normal and was designed to prevent
the rubber balls from falling out when connector is in the 'open'
position.
- Close
the cam lever all the way (up position) to secure the base mount
and device mount in the connector
Note:
The cam lever has been factory-set to apply ideal pressure to
the rubber balls. If you find the cam lever is too difficult to
close, see #6 on how to make adjustments
- ADJUSTING
THE MOUNTING SYSTEM TO THE DESIRED POSITION
- Open
the cam lever half way (90º) to the first stop (you will feel
a 'bump' indicating the stop point
- Grab
hold of the connector and tilt the entire system into the
desired position
- While
still holding the connector with one hand (for resistance), move
the device mount with the other hand to tilt the device into
the desired position
- Once
the optimal position has been achieved, close the cam lever all
the way (up position)
- USING
THE TAMPER-PROOF SECURITY SCREW
- Insert
the Pin-In-Hex security screw (included) into the slot on the cam
lever
- Tighten
screw with 1/8" Pin-In-Hex allen wrench or bit (not included,
but available as a kit from VersaTrue)
- To
adjust mounting system, remove Pin-In-Hex security screw, then follow
steps in section 4
- ADJUSTING
THE PRESSURE APPLIED BY THE CAM LEVER
Note:
